Just heard Corky Owens playing his Rains with Gene Watson and I will say the steel sound was even across the neck and had a beautiful tone! Rains is producing a high quality steel and I highly recommend it for your next purchase.

Danny.....I, too, am a very proud Rains Owner. I've had my chestnut burle D-10 for a little over two years, and it's, by far, the best guitar I've ever had. For playability, and tone, I've never had anything any better. When I get another guitar, it will be a Rains........HAL

I looked over the new Rains site. Wow! The Rains guitar is quickly becoming the best looking guitar on the market.
That they are also one of the best built, best sounding guitar is not opinion but fact. Gary&co..you got a good thing going!
