If you were buying a new steel what colour would you choose.I am buying my daughter a new ;rains; she told me last night she would like it in white with pink logo. What do you think.?If she has this colour it would be different to say the least. Keith.UK.
I'm not a lady "but" !

That would be different and very nice for a lady but if women switch guitars like the men on this forum do it might be a bit harder to get rid of later.
But there is always someone out there that will buy just about anything that's for sale.
If you decide on getting that color be sure to post some pics, i'd love to see it.

I think Don's got a good point. If there's a chance she'll end up wanting to sell it in the future, she should remember that something like 99% of steel players are guys. Only those who are fully confident of their manhood would be seen with a pink guitar (so, obviously, there would be a very small potential market for resale).
Actually, the best plan might be to buy a white guitar with a custom pink DECAL that can be removed and replaced with a good MACHO black one later on if she decides to sell it. Then she could have her Kate and Edith too!

There was a real pretty white Kline for sale here not too long ago. Very nice.
The gentlemen who have already responded are correct. Consider the possibility of resale. She already seems to have her mind made up. You could mention that black is very elegant and goes with everything, easy to match a wardrobe to, but in the end...just let her do the looking around and get her what she wants. She will stay with it longer. If she will accept the PINK sticker, that would be good. Let her make that decision. It will fare better for you in the long run. I have a pink "bling" on my black guitar that I just love. It can be removed.
Sara Jory plays a white guitar. or did.
I love my black PSG. I won't have another color. Black plays better. That's a "well known fact" around here.
A $3.00 can of paint will make any guitar black.

Carco Clave once had the Delores Hancock pink p/p that's on her album cover. (Maybe he still has it...) It sounded pretty good although it was, er, pink.
My guess is that his purchase of that guitar might have used up the available opportunities to sell a pink guitar to a guy. But hey, more power to your daughter if she proves us wrong!
A question for the ladys.

Hi all thank you all for your responce to this thread. i think jim hit the nail on the head, a white one is her choice but i will order a second set of logos in black just in case of a change of owners at a later date,i cant see her upgrading as she follows my habit of collecting steels and things. At least i will get my shobud back.Regards to you all Keith White uk.

White with gold would stand out beautiful! She can ask Dad for some really nice "gold jewelery" it would stand out and go with everything. She would sparkle on stage!Colored lights can make the white steel any color.

I say go for it keith, she can hold that as a momentum from you as a family air loom, just tell her that you will buy one of her choice, but she really needs to hold onto it, besides that guitar will last a lifetime, so why sell and re-buy!

I guess I would check and see if you can get a pink decal before any decision is made.

Go with BLACK. It is always a classy look. Please no pink. She will regret it later.

Thanks for setting up your steel last night.
It was nice seeing CYRIL from the X-FACTOR singing and playing Sax at the jam.

Well,.....there's something that needs to be understood here......
The steel is almost as important as the matching shoes and bag.......
