I ordered a new bar from Steel guitar Nashville last week.Bobbe wasn't there.Any hoo some one shipped it to me with out checking it out first.I know any defective item can slip by.I e mailed Bobbe yesterday and asked his sugestion on how to buff it out.
Recieved an e mail from him today and he told me to throw it away as he had a new on on the way already.
Now how is that for service?

Tracy: Don't throw it away. I am trying a new coating for picks & bars similar to the Red Rajah which Chuck Bratain has stopped making. Need some bars to experiment with. I'll refund postage & handling if you'll send it to me.

Tracy: You are absolutly right. I didn't have my mind in gear when I posted the request. It served a good purpose tho, in that I got a couple of emails offering to send me some excess bars to coat as a trial. Might work out. I'll let you know. Andy H.

FWIW I think Bobbe would appreciate the bar being used for an experiment rather than being thrown away. It's the perfect opportunity to do a test, and Bobbe is one guy that would like to see results of something like that.

Good luck on that new bar Andy. I have played a Red Rajah that Chubby Howard uses and I really like it.
Greg

And the pick idea sounds like money! Please let us know when they are available.

And as to Bobbe; Way to go Lefty!!

I got a bar from Bobbe Seymour about 4 weeks ago. IT was wrapped in a piece of kraft paper, I open that, then its wrapped in a paper towel. I get it out and notice a few imperfections ,4 or 5 or so little brown spots that sort of looked like rust spots . I was a little disappointed, but figured I'd Play with it for a little while and then call him the next day . After a few hours of playing ,they went away ,totally gone, it was a perfect bar. TRACY,was this the same problem with your bar,and if it is, I would bet that if you played with the bar for a couple hours it would do the same.
