Has anyone had good success with this pickup?

I'm looking for something to put on my Republic Tricone. I realize that it will not have the richness and complexity of a good mic, but for open mics, it's way easier to plug in than to try to get the people running it to get a decent tone without feedback. Plus, it's a big time saver. I'd go Highlander, but I don't have the extra 200 clams.

Crying or Very sad

If my reso was a vintage National, I'd still go with just mic, but since it's not, I'm not opposed to sticking one of these on there, or cutting holes in it.

Thanks!

I've put one on a Johnson squareneck tricone, and it works just as you describe. Plug into a guitar amp and go. It does not feed back easily, drives effects pedals nicely, etc.

I have a Schatten bridge transducer on the same guitar, and it sounds more like a reso, but is not nearly as loud and full.

The Lace "adhesive" is clear and rubbery, and can be peeled off with no residue left on the metal body at all. I ran the wire down thru one of the soundholes to a 1/4" jack on the lower bout for a semi-permanent mount.
