I have a 12 string that is close to 1".
If you are building a double neck from solid wood, DO NOT go below 5/8" on the C6. I would do 3/4". I have seen too many cracks behind changers routs on guitars with 1/2" top plates. |

| On my old "Classic", the back of the main body is a shade under 3/4" (probably due to some finish sanding), and the front of the deck is a shade under 1". (Both these dimensions are before the 'mica was added, the 'mica being about 1/16" thick.) The "step" for the front neck was made from a piece of 1/4" stock glued to the main body. |
