I have bought two of thse babys , all I can say is wow.
It's like having a studio with you, Great effects, slowdowned, key changer, tuner,drum machine, stereo condencer mic , recorder with overdub, you can build up a track via the overdub, looper just mark in and out
and slow down that fast lick.
you could use it on a gig , plug it your steel and line out to your amp, select an effect ..... 5*****,s |

Very similar to the Boss Micro BR, these are very kool tools. I believe I paid $200 for my Micro BR, well worth it. For the Micro BR I did have to write Steel Guitar patches as all of the stock input patches were for Eddie VanHalen or Jethro Tull ! Once I wrote two or three clean patches the unit is now very Steel Guitar friendly.
I wonder if the GR-1 has Steel friendly input patches ?
If it does that would be a deal breaker to go with the GR-1.

Yes John , I suspected that, my comments are more directed towards many who really don't care to make changes, don't know how to and don't want to know how to ! they just want to play !
Overall I see that as being the biggest drawback to Steel players using the Micro BR, nice unit, small buttons, small screen, not so strait forward in the editing mode. After editing it is a very easy to use unit, not really an issue for me , I am a tinkerer anyway, but for others it could be an issue.
I have always wondered why these manufacturers do not offer some really nice strait ahead clean input patches, but I already know the answer, the kids don't want them !
This GT R1 looks very kool

The one thing that doesn't look attractive to me is having to build multi tracks by looping if I am understanding it correctly. That would seem like it would make it difficult to edit the overdubbed tracks and add different effects after the recording.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but this seems more like a looper than a multi track recorder.
