Alan's album "High Mileage", released in 1998 has some really amazing music on it, fantastic steel playing by Paul and killing guitar from Brent on every song. Towards the end there's a sweet one called "A Woman's Love", and I can't identify the steel sound. Was wondering if maybe that is the Franklin "Box" or maybe a Pedabro, or is it just a steel with one of those dobro simulators? Anybody know? For any of you all new to the steel who haven't heard this album it's totally worth it, but then I have almost all of his albums so I am a bit biased.
Thanks for reading my post.

I think it's Paul playing the Pedabro.

Thanks for the info Theresa - I would find it very unlikely that a top player on a major session in Nashville would use a dobro simulator. _________________ Mark |

Might be Jerry Douglas on a lap steel since I heard he was "all over" that album. Somebody may be able to confirm this. Respectfully submitted, RK _________________ "think MORE...play LESS" |

Misunderstood the actual question... I was referring to the latter version of the tune on the "Like Red On A Rose" project.RK _________________ "think MORE...play LESS" |
