I'll try to make it... im doing chubby howard's show on the 5th and the louisville hall of fame show on the 12th and then the saluda show in november. but lexington isn't too far so i should be able to make it...

Is Doug Jernigan going to be able to come this year?

I am happy to say that I will be back to this great show as this is one of the top shows in the Country, and I have been on everyone since it started back in the early eighties. I hope to see many of you there and I think the new hotel this year is a fantastic location. Of course, as usual Al Vanderpool has a great lineup of players.

That's a great list and I fully intend to be there to enjoy the show. A couple of Ohio/KY favorites of mine are Greg Jones and Mike Sigler. Hope they'll be added if they're available.

Ron, I talked to Mike in St. Louis. He told me he wouldn't be there this year. I suppose things could change though. Don't know about Greg.

Thanks For asking about me guys!
But the Ky club budget will not allow for me to drive down and do the show!... but maybe in the future, who knows!

This show is a lot of fun, with Boogie and the Boys, and Al V. always keeps things happening, like the new place for this year; I sure had a LARGE time last year at the other place and I'm sure this year will be the same.
See ya'll soon,

Hey Folks, It's been about twelve (very long) years since we've been to the show, but my wife and I will be in Kentucky for a visit and I've already made my reservations. I'm very excited and can hardly wait to see some friends I haven't seen for a long time. We're looking forward to some great music. :D

A suggestion for motel registration. This show has sold out the host site for the last 5-10 years. Make your reservations early in order to get the reduced rate of $65.00. Best Western phone number is (859)263-5241. If you are late, there are many other motels at Lexington exits located north of exit 104 on I75. Fast food is available at exit 104. The Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans are at exit 110 on I75. Others such as Max and Erma's,Ryans Steak House, Rafferty's etc are at exit 108.
Next topic: I spoke to Al about an invitation to Greg Jones. He has invited Greg for the past 3 years but Greg could not attend. I spoke to Greg during the last Renfro Valley season and he told me that he was playing 13 shows each week. That leaves very little time for other shows.
See you at the show!

Looks like a nice easy ride down from Cincinnati. I'm looking forward to the show and seeing our friend Fred Layman back to MC it. "Fred's show" was the first steel show I ever attended, I guess about 15 years ago now. Time flies when you're goofing off.
