New Price: For Sale: ZB Custom Double 11 8 Pedals 4 Knees
New Price!! $2200 plus shipping.
I'm listing this pedal steel for a friend of mine who has this nice ZB for sale. I have it at my house now checking it out to make sure everything works ok.
Serial number is NH-1968. I am told that this was one of the pedal steels owned by Norm Hamlet. The steel is heavy and in great shape. It plays great for its age.
Has Emmons setup on E9 with the 11th string on the bass side. Standard C6 with the 11th string on the treble side, a D-so you have both the high G and the D.
LKL raises both E's on E9 neck
LKR lowers 6th string to F#
RKL Lowers both E's
RKR lowers 2nd string to C# and 9th string to C#.
No knees operate the C6 neck
I have tuned it up and all the pedals and knees work great(a little harder to push compared to the modern steels).
The finish is in great shape has some very minor nics. Metal is in great shape has some minor nics-overall in great shape.
Looks like a control panel of electrical switches, with a slide switch used to bypass the tone and volume pots. All the pots and switches work great.
The case is in a firm and solid condition but is nicked up on the outside. Has some tears and rips. But all in all in ok condition. Has a label that says Norm Hamlet-another label says the Strangers, and third label says Merle Haggard Show. Also has cool vintage decal.
Sorry to go on and on... but trying to list everything that I see. I will have the steel at my house and can answer any questions via the forum or by phone if needed. I've got many more pictures I can email to anyone if needed-I am listing three pics here.
$2200.00 plus shipping and ship insurance.

Re: zb
Back in the '60s, most all steel builders made their own pickups! There were no big companies like George-L and Bill Lawrence that specialized in just making steel pickups.Dennis Wireman wrote:cris i want to know who made them what brand I know they are 11 string pickup

The pickups on this ZB sound very well and loud, even after all these years.
B. Greg Jones: When Norm was playing the Spokane steel show last year, he was shown the ZB and he said that was his old pedal steel, he signed the bottom 3/4 inch edge of the wood. I had the lp with me you've posted, and Norm says it's the same guitar and the picture was taken at the Bakersfield High School gym. Pretty neat.
The ZB is still for sale...any offers???
I talked to my neighbor, owner of the steel, and he would consider any reasonable offers..

Being a hard-core Shobud man....I almost died and gone to heaven when I saw this ZB. I want it so bad I can taste it.
I of course am a full-time musician...so I have NO money and NO credit...>but if I did....I would not care about the price....this ZB is freakin' Priceless...and would buy it in a New York minute.
How bout sending it down here to me..and let me string it up with new strings for ya...and set it up real nice underneath to play perfect for whoever the new owner may be....and I'll ship it my charge..Oh and I'll clean on it...bath with it...feed it...and bla bla...it will look showroom new(already looks pretty dang sweet.

Yes Chuck, I am drooling over this beeeyutyful ZB. I probably should buy it, and maybe would have, had my ex-wife not recently burned up $3.000 suing me. I do miss my old blue ZB D-10 that mean old Joe C. won't sell back to me.
Folks, in case I can't find enough change underneath my couch cushions, I'd like to bump this fine ZB... they do sound "the best". With a spit polish by Ricky, what's not to love?
Hey Duane, do I get a discount if my wife is from Washington, and her parents live outside of Shelton, WA?

Looks like it hasn't been disturbed too much underneath. I think you should buy it Duncan. On the way to Florida you can have it shipped to me and I'll do my nut roller mod on it so it'll stay in tune. Probably thake me six months though, you know, just sos' it perfect........

Congratulations on the sale Duane. It took a while, but before you buy a ZB D-11 you have to get a note from your back doctor medically clearing you to lift it...that's the reason for the delay.
Again, congratualtions!,Duncan
