Jerry you made all of us fans of yours whether it was your great picking or the great movie " Smoky and the Bandit".....We all appreciated your talent and man you were one helluva guitar picker, song writer and a great singer.

I read a while back where Chet was Jerry's
father in law.
Havn't heard it this year. Maybe it wasn't true.

Jerry was married to Priscilla Mitchel for many years up until his death. Chet's only daughter, Merle (named after Travis) was married to a fellow,last named Russel. I say WAS.
As for the Rolls Royce collection, I think that honor went to some Guru in Oregon a few years back. Chet collected guitars, of three I have touched, but he was very frugal about spending money. I know he drove a Mercedes. The first time I met him, he was driving an Oldsmobile He lived in the same house since the mid fifties.
When Jerry made his first RCA LP around the mid 60s, Merle wrote the album on behalf of her dad.
