Probably the first of several in the coming weeks. They have mostly been done at jam sessions at what is known as Camp Crud which convenes twice a year at labor day and memorial day at Camp Mather California coinciding with the Strawberry Music Festival events which are held there.
This particular recording was made on Labor Day of '05. It was part of a radio broadcast by the festival radio station after the main show on stage was over. I learned the song in the hour or two before the broadcast. I played it on my Superior brand Weissenborne style guitar that I am now kicking myself for having sold. It stayed in tune under these conditions much better than my current tricone.
Don't worry. You don't need to listen to all 7 minutes of this. I am the second solo. I'm using lo C6 (E-C-A-G-E-C) hi to lo.

This URL may not work yet because the entry is brand new. You can also go to youtube and search under Camp Crud Enterprises. Then you scroll down to Walking Stick. Sorry for the extra steps. Hope it's fully ready soon.

What a sound. Your group sounds like the real old recordings on 78's... amazing stuff!

Thanks everybody. That was actually made just a few weeks after I returned to the steel guitar after a layoff of almost ten years. In a few weeks I'll have a more recent one up. Hopefully it will be the studio cut of, "BLVD of Broken Dreams," I did with Smokehouse Swing last summer. Unfortunately I have no control of what is being put up on youtube. And alot of it was recorded at outdoor jam sessions where my metal bodied tricone had some intonation problems in the changing temperatures. But I may bring y'all's attention to a few of those anyway just to show that C6 doesn't have to sound either western or hawaiian.
