Some dreams can be nightmares...Then again one always wakes up.. But Nashville still is where to be when your from somewhere else. :? ALL kidding aside,Its still the place to be if one can blend in and get the right break...The lines long but creme rises to the top...Getting in with the right people also don't hurt. best of luck to you...

Jamie,
If you know what you want to do for a living, Nashville is where you need to be.
I'm the sister and wife of musicians that knew what they wanted!
Go for it! :)

I was recently in Nashville, looked more like a town of commerce. Is it really the music place to be or should a person who aspires to be a musicisan not move to Branson?

Any relation to John? Jody.

I'm confused. Don't you have to be in Nashville for so many years before you move to Branson?

Sorry for late reply !!!

I love and live for music, been playing steel guitar for 16 years now. Its my life !!!

Just returned from Wyoming and Denver, finished state fairs. I have been over before to America and had so many complements, and people saying "you need to go to Nahville, you got the tools and clean cut Military look (what ever thats means)???"

I have some really good contacts there. Theres a guy named Glen Mitchell who moved there from Essex England since then his been with Lonestar, jammed with Vince Gill. And he siad he would introduce me.
He is doing very well for himself.

Also a guy from Denver named Rudy Grant who is taking me there is best friends will Charlie Pride and his steel player, think his name Ronnie Miller ??? not sure, which is a great help too.

Our old drummer named Ingrid Bromley had a chance there with her band called Indigio Lady many years ago but never followed it through and the person who started Vince Gill career was her contact who she still knows and speaks to, so I have been told, hopefully this will help !!!

My goals and dreams are to gain reconigtion and hopefully get a break there. We all have dreams and if I dont follow them I will never know.

I am so determed to do this, I have nothing to lose and hopefully something to gain. I will work so hard and jam and meet with anyone I can.

I can go on a 3 months visa at a time, and if I get lucky then get sponsered by people I know and who knows !!!

Plus Theresa I have a Franklin which needs setting up and tweaking, could I arrange with your dad when Im over to do this???

Thank you

JAMIE

You'll never know until you try! You can't try again when your 50. As a singer/front man for many years in my 20's and early thirties I had the fever but no guts.
Could I have done it? I'll never know! Greg

Jamie, I don't blame you a bit. America is a great place, in fact, I believe it is still the most wonderful country on earth and I believe with the right attitude, dedication and skill you can do anything you want to here. I wish you great success and would like for you to let us know know about your successes. I, for one would be very interested in hearing about them.

Good luck Jamie from a fellow Brit who followed his dreams to the US - you'll never regret trying. Nashville is a great city.
Peace, Tim

Jamie,

You'll have a lot of friends until the $10,000 runs out. Then you'll find out who the real ones are.

If this is what you want to do, go for it. You'll never know until you try. Best of luck to you!
