I would like to use my AT822 as a stereo mic into my laptop field recording system. That little stereo mini plug worked with my dat recorder but those days are long gone. Is there an XLR cable Female that goes into two separate male XLR outputs available ? Or how can I get a stereo output into my system which only has mono XLR and 1/4" inputs available ?

Laptop Mic input jacks all seem to be mono. I think your only solution would be to buy an audio interface that would allow two or more simultaneous audio inputs via either a USB or Firewire connection.
You'll need to check suppliers over there for prices, but my students have had good results with the boxes from M Audio, Edirol and Digidesign.

I had to look it up to see whether the 822 had the same kind of 5-pin XLR as the 825, but I guess not. Appears that it's a standard XLR connector but instead of a single balanced signal it's a got dual unbalanced signals with a common ground.
Shouldn't be hard to make an XLR -> (2)1/4" cable using each signal to one of the 1/4" plugs and sharing the ground.

Thanks guys. I just ordered a 1/8 stereo adapter to the 2 XLRs. I may have toasted it already because I had phantom power in line last time I tried to use it. The 825 would suit me better at this point.
