I'm looking for the best replacement pup for my 1976 MSA D-10. I'm new so don't know about sizes, restrictions, choices or places to buy.
I have a Bill Lawrence pup in the C6 neck that I love but don't like the one in the E9 (just got the steel yesterday). So am looking for a great pup replacement.
Thanks in advance |

Wallace TrueTones, depending on how you like your steel to sound I would wind it a 17.5k - 20k

I think you would like a pickup a little on the bright side.
A BL710 or 705 or just a good ol' GL E66.
I had an 17,8k TT in min MSA and it was a bit too dark for that guitar in my opinion. It came alive with both the 710 and E66. Can't say i favoured any of them.
Mine had the mounting plates with two screws sticking out under the pickup, but there were space enough to drill new holes for a regular "wide mount" pickup to fit. I fastened it with just three screws an played it that way for years. Worked fine.
Theese MSA's are fine instruments. _________________ 1983 Emmons D10 SKH, Carter SD10, Nashville 112, Session 500, ProfexII, Lapsteels, GT-Beard reso, guitars of all kinds...
