The SSSGC wishes to thank everyone who came to our meeting last Sunday. We truly value our members and guests. It was a beautiful day in the Ozarks.
Despite our treasurer, Virgil Pittman, being AWOL, and member Vance Monday on holiday in Sweden, we enjoyed a good afternoon of music and fellowship.
This month, we welcomed our new drummer, LeRoy Hittson of the Hittson Brothers Band. Great job, LeRoy!
Vice president, Larry Garrett, resident cookie monster, guarding the munchies.
Members who attended:
Norma Jean Lucas on bass guitar and vocals.
Donley Harrington on back-up and vocals.
LeRoy Hittson played drums.
Larry Garrett played his Show-Bud and sang.
Ben Chesney played his left-handed Peddlemaster.
Marvin Meeker played his Rains.
Gerald Sparks played his Emmons.
Zelpha (Mrs. Ivan) Ward sang for us.
Lynn Carney, Publicity, did interviews and took photos
Our lady president visits with Zelpha Ward, Darlene Barnett, Charles Barnett
Guests: Charles Barnett, Chad Jones, Sam Smith
Guests this month:
Charles Barnett (steel guitar) and his wife, Darlene
Chad Jones, front man for a band, vocals
Sam Smith, drummer
Nina Hittson, wife of LeRoy Hittson
Look for another post with bios of some of our members, and a brief history of the SSSGC. Coming soon.
Members, if you want your bio featured in a future post, please email me.
Thanks!
Lynn

Hey Charlie, How have you been doing? Haven't seen you in years. Norma Lucas was at the Ozark Mt. Hoedown last Saturday night and she told me you were at their Sunday jam. I'm still sitting right where you used to sit at that theater. When you get a chance bring your wife over to Eureka and check out the show. It has been a good gig since the George Bros bought the theater and were doing all old country music now. If you can make it let me know and I'll tell the George boys your coming and they will take care of you. Eddie Snow |

Eddie, I believe Charlie's planning to bring his steel to our next meeting of the SSSGC. We would certainly love to have you join us with your steel and banjo on some good ol' country classics.
Visitors are welcome too. (those ornery pickers and grinners love an audience )
We meet the 2nd Sunday of each month from 12:30ish-4 pm in Siloam Springs, AR.
We also have a great convention in April.
Please tell your friends.
Y'all come.

Hi everyone,
Sounds like you all had a good time at the meeting. Sorry I missed it but I sure enjoyed our trip to Sweden. I am going to miss the Sept. meeting too. I am playing in Tonganoxie, Kansas on Sat. night the 13th and I have a recording session on the 15th and 16th in Nashville and we are driving down on Sunday. I hope I can make one of the meetings before long or you may kick me out of the club. You all have fun and I hope to see you before too long.

Now Vance with all the comedians out of work already I think you had better stick to what you do best! Steeling. Maybe we will get you back for the October meeting and you will have a lot of good licks and stories to share with the rest of the guys. Don't forget the pictures of Sweden. Tell Lila hi. We will miss you at the meeting. |
