I use MailWasher Pro as my spam filter. It sits between your email server and your desktop POP email client (application). I have written extensive details about customizing spam filters for this program.

There is a bit of a learning curve required to use MailWasher to it's fullest potential, including teaching it what is and isn't spam. There are several members in this forum who rely upon MailWasher Pro to rid their inboxes of spam, scams, viruses and exploits.

I'm sure you will have questions about MWP, so feel free to ask for help here, in this thread, or a new one.

Yeah, those MailWasher filters are famous around the World; at least among those countries I don't block from accessing my website. There are three published versions of my filters. I use filters3.txt (plus a few unpublished rules), which I refer to as the Judge Dredd, "Murder, Death, Kill" set. It automatically deletes (or hides) most spam when a rule is matched. There are occasional false positives which I restore from the MWP Recycle Bin.

Filters2.txt is the same set, but without automatic deletions, or hiding of spam messages. When a message matches a rule it gets marked for deletion and the status field shows the first rule it matches.

Filters.txt is the same set as #2, plus many older rules accumulated over the years.

Disclaimer:
I am an associated agent for Firetrust products and have links to try or buy MailWasher Pro on my previously mentioned web pages and on my blog.

Thank you for your purchase!

The Blacklist is useful for banning repeat spam senders, or entire known spam domains. I am going to give you some blacklist patterns to place into the wildcards option of the MailWasher Pro Email Blacklist. Use them at your own discretion, after ensuring that you do not correspond with people using email addresses from these domains.

These statements are "wildcard" rules that provide a broad match of all email addresses at a domain, or all matching prefixes at a domain. Some are old, but may still be valid. Others are catching spam for me every day. Only apply this rule: +@+.de if you have no email contacts in Germany.
