I have a 1934 Rickenbacher Frypan long scale which measures 31” L x 7” W.

I would like to get a hardshell case for it
that would protect it and be handier for carrying
it as I travel on airplanes.

I do have a case for it now which measures 33” L x 12” W. This case is passable but I would like to get a tighter fit and have a smaller case for storing in overhead airplane bins.

Can I have some discussion and suggestions on this – the pros and the cons?

Aloha, Smile
Don

You could have Kevin Hatton build you a case: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=111632&highlight=case+stringmaster

It looks like he does really nice work.

Gun cases are mass produced, many sizes, and affordable.

Photos of the one I use with my Rick Panda here:

Much thanks, Lynn and Joey.

I will investigate both.

Does any one else have any other ideas or suggestions?
I would like as much input as possible.
