I have an MSA s12 and would like to know what are the best strings that will get me the best tone and sustain with reliability in mind . Not all in that order, but I spare no expense when it comes to sound.

Thanks

I believe that MSA puts Jagwires on their new guitars: http://jagwirestrings.tripod.com/catalog/i86.html

Two of the gauges are slightly different from the more generic U-12 sets in the Forum catalog.

I play an MSA "Milly" M3 SU12 and enjoy the Jagwire Nickel sets.

I have been through more than 20 sets and never a problem.

A side benefit of using the same set each time, the raises and lowers are pretty much already there. Just a little touch up.

On my Milly S12U I use Jagwire stainless steel strings. They are the longest lasting strings (in terms of tone and breakage) I have ever found.

best to find out what gauges the steel came equiped with, the way steels get altered and molested can affect set up and cause tuning problems.
What year is your MSA, I have a pdf of the old msa manual...

My favorite strings, for my Mullen U-12, are Stainless Jagwires, purchased from b0b.

Coming in a very close second place are Frenchy's Stainless "Silent Wound Series" strings, which you can purchase from Frenchy, out in Belen, NM.
