The rapidly rising star in the world of steel guitar "Mike Johnson" and myself with some incredible players of the area will be playing our hearts out Sunday, August third at 11:30 am to as long as it takes to make everyone delerious.

This great event will be in Greenwood Indiana which is directly south of Indianapolis,(just a few miles). Like always, it promises to be a very enjoyable show,

Details of this show are in my news letter and will be on my website Monday.
Make plans to be there, what could be more fun on a Sunday afternoon with your clothes on? Nothing! Be there!

This is the BEST show for the money anywhere!!!
See you there,

Boy I wish I could go. I'll be in Nazareth Pa on the 2nd and would never be able to get there in time.
Don do you or anyone from Indy know how to get hold of Joe Tippy? If he shows up tell him I'd like to hear from him.

Ben, good to see you on here...Joe did come to the Indy show a couple years ago, but he is up in age and in not so good health. I don't know how to get hold of him but last I knew he was living in Terre Haute Indidana. He was the BEST Nashville style Steeler in Indiapolis forever, all the way back to my dad's generation at "Neely'e Blue Room", where Joe had the 4 Peice Band From Hell! Wow! I still have the LP. Cryin' Country to 4/4 Shuffles to twining the Allman Brothers...
I guess Ed Ruder has passed away, he sold me my first Sho~Bud.
Take care, I'll ask around the Indy Steel Club this Sunday and see if anyone knows anything about Joe.
Your Friend,
Don E.

Greenwood Show!

The Greenwood Show yesterday was just wonderful!
Every player recieved endless applause...and rightly so! We met Mike Johnson and his beautiful wife for the first time. She is not only beautiful, but is a fantastic singer! We predict great things for this loveable couple! Southern people are gracious by nature as a rule and Mike hails from AL and is no exception. He is a very talented picker! Wonder how much time he spends at that steel guitar?
Maybe we will hear more about Sunday's show.....pickers and spectators as well.

Duane....it was really nice to see you again! I agree, yesterday's show was really something. Of all the shows I have seen here in Indy, this one really stands out as the best thus far. Mike Johnson, Don Curtis and Bobbe Seymour were all excellent...it is very rare that the club would have three pickers of their caliber on the same bill. I really could gush on and on about their picking....but I'd be saying something that everyone hear already knows about all of them. Even better, all of them were extremely personable and eager to chat with anyone and everyone. :)

I had a great time!

Hey Joe, it was also nice for us to see you. Without great folks like you we'd have no reson to show.
I must thank Sharon Denny and her wonderful husband for getting me from the airport and back. The weather was wonderful and the flight in my Piper was very boring, just the way I like it!
Some players I truly think the world of were on this show, old buddies, Don Curtis, and the incomparible Mike Johnson. Both these guys play as great as they are nice.

What else can be said about Scotty? He is a legend in the steel guitar world, and I never saw him play any better than he did Sunday, A powerful force in our steel guitar community.

Joe Artero, you said it well, but next time you should play too!

I thank everyone for the wonderful reception and setting a great over all feeling of love and appreciation.

Thanks Bobbe for your nice comment about my playing. I play so simple and the forward and reverse slants come so easy it is hard for me to believe that any one likes my playing. I have had that complex all my life. I should pay attention when players like you, John Hughey and so many others compliment me on my playing. Especially my tone. I should do what my wife Mary tells me. Dee, she calls me Dee, just shut and play! I guess I should do just that! Scotty

Thanks Don & Jimmie. I wish I could have been there on the 3rd. I had to play in Pa the night before. Jim, my daughter still lives in Indy and we'll be coming out in the future. I'll email you so we can get together.
Don & Scotty sorry I can't make the ISGC this year but I hope to see you both soon.
