?? For Non Pro Players Like Myself

Post by Barry Westerfield »

Many of us will not achieve that fantasy goal of playing on a big stage with a major singer/band...Many nights and days spending time "practicing/playing in the back room or porch wherever/whenever you can....Who do you dream of being on stage with......My first choice is Barbara Mandrel....next George Jones... (whichever one of the two calls me first HEHEHE)

My dream would be to play for the women: Patsy Kline, Tammy Wynette, Wanda Jackson, Linda Ronstadt, Emmy Lou Harris, Patti Lovelace, Allison Krause, Faith Hill, Lee Anne Rhymes, and so many more in other genres, Julie London, Lola Albright, Billy Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Janis Joplin, Annie Lenox, Krissy Hynd, Deborah Harry, I could go on and on.

david...that's 'loveless' not 'lovelace'...you've been watching too much 'what's behind the green door'...actually i think she changed to loveless from lovelace so's not to be confused with linda....but then i've heard stories about her too!

Daryle Singletary. The most underrated vocalist in the history of country music, IMHO.

I see lots of good choices already posted that I also would enjoy. I have done a lot of one nighters including Bob Wills,Lefty Frizzel and Connie Smith. I played for Darrell McCall for a year and a half in the mid 80s. I've been with Billy Mata for the last 14 years. Not as big of a name but a very good band. My wish list might be: They don't call. They don't write.
