Thanks Paul
Glad you told me or I would have missed it.
Hey Paul
I will be at the VFW 7 points this weekend with Bob Windham-Keys, Micky G Williams-Guitar & Steel, David Williams-Drums, Tommy Booker-Bass and Joe Windham on Harmonica and little ole me on steel-and guitar. Now let me tell you something. That Micky G Williams can tear the steel up. 1st time I heard him I was so dazed I had a heck of a time playin my tele.
Masn is he ever great!
I play the 1st 1/2 on my steel and Micky G plays the 2nd half on his steel. Kinda funny Micky is 6'3" and I am 5'6". He tried to play mine but could not get under it! HA! HA!
God built me close to the ground to avoid flying bullets!!! HA!
We have a blast.
Thanks for the referrals. I hope to meet you in person and thank you proper like!
David

I keep planning to get down there to see y'all play. I see Booker all the time. I'm playing in Cedar Hill this Saturday. That Mickey G blew me away to. I love to hear him play and I love to hear him sing. That steel he plays looks like it's fallen out of the truck a few times but he get's the sound out of it. I hear nothing but good about your playing too from Bob and the boys.

Thanks Paul very much.

I do my very best every time!
Sometimes it ain't no where near good enough! HA! HA!
Sooo much to learn on the steel guitar.
Soo many songs I don't know and have never played.
Soo many technics and runs I have not mastered or even tried yet.
I will be learning new things on the steel until the day I kick it.

Micky made me feel like I ain't never played one of these things before, the last time we played together.
I only knew a few of the songs he sang!!!

Today I broke out the 5th knee lever and played with it.
Then I thought to my self - self you had better learn to use the other one's 1st!! HA!

You know what they, whoever they are, say about talking about ourself's in the 3rd party!
CRAZY !!HA! HA!

I tell you what, Micky G may be as good if not a hell of a lot better than most of the guys I have heard play at the steel shows.
PLEASE !
Don't get me wrong I think all of them are fantastic!
He is just sooo flat entertaining.

I have never seen anyone who can Sing like he does, like a pro recording artist I mean, and then play and never miss a beat on the steel.

It takes some real honest to goodness talent to do that. Heck when I am singing harmony I do it only when it is someone elses turn to take the lead.

He has just finished his CD where he played every instrument except drums on it. Bass, Keys, Fiddle, Guitar, Steel, Mandolin, Banjo, all backup vocals 3 parts. Heck I forget what else.
You name it he plays like a pro!
His brother David Williams played the drums.

Well Bob called me last night and I am gonna get a reprieve. Micky is not going to be there so I will get double duty. I have to take my Tele also.

Paul gotta go to work
I hope to see you soon.
Thanks again

Don't forget....the song writing! I've heard a few Mickey has written that I think would be hits. I'm pretty sure Booker won't be there this Saturday. I think I heard him say he had a class reunion. Take care and I'll make it one of these gigs.

Enjoyed the show.

Connie did Once a Day with Weldon, gave him credit for the Connie Smith sound.
