Appreciate the nice comments...Both Ian Tyson & Gord Lightfoot taught me a lot as a young musician & got to meet so many great fans & musicians all over the world...Got off the road with Gord to be with family & pursue corporate career with Rogers Media...George Canyon called me and flew me out to Portage last Saturday...they flew in from Kandahar after playing for the troops....no rehearsals, 25tunes, ear monitors & 5000 fans...man was I was nervous...Show went great & he wants me to do all his shows...flying out to Medicine Hat July 23 & a show couple hours from Calgary on 26th...May just get hooked again...all the best...Ed

I grew up on Lake Erie. We had Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on our Jukebox. I used to play it all the time.

Pee Wee, good to see you back on The Forum. When you get to Medicine Hat, if you run into Billy Jones, please say hello to him from me. He's a class act steeler and great supporter of the steel guitar out there.

Hey George, Will say hello to Billie if I see him.....Brian, that's cool hearing it on a jukebox, Gord actually wrote that song to be an album filler from a Newsweek article he read...went into the studio & cut it around 2 AM...second take was the keeper & sold over 2 million albums & over 6 minutes long for radio play which is unheard of...I had an old Fender Princeton amp that had a hole in the speaker that was used for the overdrive sound you hear on the cd....It was a very special time in the studio...Glad you heard it on the jukebox & thanks for the comment....Peewee

The great Pee Wee Charles! Your steel work on Lightfoot's "The Great Canadian Railroad Trilogy", "Rainy Day People", "Softly" and many other songs got me hooked on the instrument. Fabulous, unique sound and style. Great to see you here again.....I will check out your site for sure.

Nice work. I remember the storm when the Fitzgerald sank as I lived in the Sault Ste Marie at the time. I also noticed you've played the Ranch and Corral, maybe we could meet up sometime as they are on my rotation.

Great!

Hu Chris, Thanks for the nice comments...Playing with Gord taught me a lot at a young age & had to play a different style to complement his music...Those songs will all go down as classics & so glad I could be a part of them....Thanks again

Russ, Small world.....When the Fitzgerald sunk you lived in Sault St. Marie...You know how bad those storms get...Have to catch up at The Ranch sometime with studio group I play with, Littlerock...Take care

Karen, Thanks again for the nice comments...I did the 9/11 Tribute a week after it happpened I was so upset...I had a Red Cross site setup up for donations with all proceeds going to the families...Just had to do something...Have a great night...
