Bought a DVD box with 12 Wilburn Bros. TV Shows. I know it's Buddy Spicher on fiddle and Don Helms and Hal Rugg on steel, but who's the other pickers.

Per, do the Wilburn Brothers DVDs have the complete shows including all the guests and the instrumentals, or are they edited? And you mentioned Hal Rugg and Don Helms; are there any of the later shows that Curly Chalker played on?
Thanks... |

Pete,
It's complete shows (without commercials) and last night I watched a show from '73 with Porter and Dolly as guests - and it had Curly Chalker on steel (and no fiddleplayer).
Still 3 shows to go before I'm through with the set.

After Don left, it was always the combo of Hal and Buddy Spicher. Whenever Curly subbed, it was always with Jimmy Capps on guitar, and no fiddle. At least, I never saw any with Curly and Buddy. Seems like it was a package deal -- you either got Hal/Buddy or Curly/Jimmy. Couldn't go wrong with either of those choices. |

Wow! what a great Web site. Thanks Per for bringing up the subject. I've already dug into my old sock and ordered some items.
