August 17 is my birthday and my kids live in the woodlands. Boy would that be a B-day party! See my kids and one of my favorite steelers all in one weekend. Have to see if I can work it out.

Lyle Lovett. He evidently doesn't believe in days off! (And how come no Philly gig? :( )

Lyle always travels First Class though.

Buck, do you know who else is on the tour backing Lyle?

Tom,this years band consist's of Russ Kunkel on drums, Viktor Krauss on upright bass, Jim Cox on piano, Ray Herndon and Mitch Watkins on electric guitars, Gene Elders on fiddle, John Hagen on cello, Keith Sewel on acoustic guitar/mandolin,three backup singers... Willie Green Jr.,Harry Bowens,Sweet Pea Atkinson and yours truly.

Not sure why but I just learned the Letterman date on June 30th is cancelled.

Jim,sorry no 'philly' date, would have been good to see you.

Buck, has Gene left George Strait?

Tony,
my understanding is that George tours through the early part of the year which allows Gene to do both.

Buck,
Saw the show in Westbury, NY. It was great! My only complaint was that you weren't featured enough. I ordered your CD. Can't wait to get it.

Buck, I caught the show last year at Chastain Park in Atlanta. I had figured that between Lyle and K.D. Lang I would get my money's worth. What I didn't expect is that I'd be bitten by the steel guitar bug again after being away for more then 30 years. You may have only been out front on two or so songs, but that's all it took for me.

Being a computer programmer by trade I practically lived on line, but I had never followed up on my old passion. The difference between my relative isolation as a kid in Baltimore with an old ShoBud permanent compared to wealth of knowledge, camaraderie and support available online today is truly amazing.

From time to time I had checked Lyle's credits, but couldn't pin down who was playing that night. With this thread, it finally clicked.
I just wanted to say thank you for your inspiration and being a beacon home.

Buck, Great show last night (Thur) and a great write-up in the S-T today.

You were well up in the mix and the tone was great. Looks like you were going direct. What rig/setup are you using? It sounded terrific.

Thanks Danny for coming out, and for your kind words! :) Sorry we didn't get a chance to visit. My rig is very simple, Bill Lawrence LXR-16's, and a Profex2 thru a Nashville 112.
