I'm consider getting a new tuner. I've been using the Boss TU-12 for years (the tuner with the needle meter), and it works okay for me with reading the meter for cents for tempered tuning, or applying Jeff Newman's tuning charts. I'm interested in the Strobo-Flip, but also in the Boss TU-2 stompbox style tuner. I am in the process of putting a small pedal board together, and it might be convenient to have a TU-2 wired into the pedal board and ready to go. I believe it has a mute function, and also adds a buffer which might be a goood idea for my pedal board. I know 6-string players like these tuners, but I'd like to hear if anyone is using a TU-2 with pedal steel, and how well it works with tempered tunings, Newman's tuning charts, etc.
Thank you!

If you plan to install the tuner in a pedalboard, I would recommend the Strobostomp. Very easy to read and program and more durable than the Stroboflip. It also features true bypass and with the use of a wall wart and a daisy chain, can power your other pedals. (BTW I tried a TU 2 briefly and did not care for it. Any presets are erased when the pedal is turned off so it must be programmed each time you use it unless you choose to tune manually.) |

Good call, David. I hadn't thought about that one. It looks like a better tuner than the TU-2.
Thanks,
