Take a listen at some island music by Konabob!
Lil Grass Shack - With Konabob, Uncle Don & Bruddah George
And what do you say about that "Stick Bass?"
Konabob hosted HSGA steel guitar players on the Big Island at Kona for a steel guitar festival at Hilo Bay in May, 2007. It was a grand time.

I love that stickbass. I'm a member of the forum and plan to move there in few years. Bobs played with some legends over there. |

I didn't know Konabob played steel, too. Very cool!
Love the Walkingbass. I believe Bob created and builds those, yes? IMO, this old-style hapa-haole music needs that upright tone to sound 'right,' at least to my ears. The Walkingbass gets amazingly close to that wonderful 'thump.'

i remember meeting Kona Bob and his wife at the NY Uke Fest a few years back. She paid me just about the nicest compliment anyone could ever ask for after I played a set there. Extremely nice folks; in fact, too nice, makes me suspicious. Just kidding. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |
