I saw Smiley tonight; he showed me a "stutter switch" that Johnny Cox built for him. It was a doorbell button, and when he pressed it rapidly, it made the slide he was doing "stutter."

I picked up his bar, and said, "You could just do this." I just bounced the bar up the neck.

He hit me. Laughing

Stutter Switch.

I have a Multi-Kord that I bought new from Jay Harlin of the Harlin Bros. back in about 1962. It came out from the factory with one installed. It still works. Just a little red button that sits between the volume and tone control knobs.

Harlins called it a Wah Wah button back then. You had to have the tone control set to treble for it to work.
