You know, I just don't see what is so great about it. It's cool, but nothing new. The Sustainiac and Fernandes sustainer units have been around for a long time. The only thing different that I see on the moog is the muted string option. They don't mention the harmonic modes that are capable in the other sustainer units. What warrants that price tag, I have no idea.

I had a Sustainiac installed in a Guyatone lap steel that was later stolen. In the end, my ebow was far more musical because of the way it can be moved to and from the pickup and in/out of harmonics/fundamentals.

Yes, I think it's a variation on that basic theme, but I think you can have sustain on strings you play, but none on the strings you're not holding down. With a sustainiac, I believe you need a good muting technique for the strings you're not holding down. Of course, I've only played briefly with a Fernandes, so I could be wrong...
