Hey Guys, I am a newbie to the FX thing. It didn't take long to end up with 4-6 pedals. Batteries, cords, power, which one is plugged in? You know, what a mess. Been looking at Pedal Boards to help organize the chaos.
MusiciansFriend has a Gator Powered Pedal Board on sale right now for $109.00 shipped. From what I've seen looked like a good price for a powered board. It arrived today, so far its a keeper:
16x12 3/4" particle board painted black, covered in tolex with velcro on the top side, peel off velcro is included for the pedals.
The board weighs 7+ lbs. and is glued together. I stood on it and there was NO give. Amazing LOL. It is angled probably 15-20%.
Included is the G-BUS-8 Power Supply mounted underneath the board. 8x9V 0.25A & 3x18V 0.35A Outlets. 24" cords are included, 8 for 9V & 1 for 18V. Cords come up through a slot at the top of the board.
16 x 12 seems to be a good size. You could put 2 rows of 4 pedals or some combination. I got the Black Tote, I would probably consider the Camo Tote.(Won't show dirt so much) The Tote is well made also.
A plastic file crate turned upside down is the perfect size & height to have it right next to my seat.
Everything seems to work well. I'll update after I have it a while.
I will probably take a clue from Darvin and drill some small holes and use cable ties to hold the pedals on. Will add a couple of strips of velcro underneath to organize cables.
Problem now, if I tell my wife & kids about it, I risk not scoring another Fathers Day Present. Its on the down low right now. Snuck it into the music room!LOL!
