No doubt this has been asked before, but I'm not having luck in the 'search' for it.
What way's can TAB be done on the computer instead of doing it by written hand? |

TablEdit is a great program for around $50.
It takes a little practice, but the end result is worth it.

If you have Microsoft Office and Power Point you can do tabs.
That is how I do mine.
Here is how it is done

I use one of two different methods (other than Tabledit).
Use a spreadsheet...
Change all of the column widths to something really small like one character wide. Then set the borders for 10 rows of cells. The borders will show up as lines/strings when printed. I also created a font especially for doing it that way.
Use a text editor...
Pick a monospaced font like Courier New and use some of the extended characters (the ones you have to get from Character Map) to create a staff of lines/strings. Copy the staff several times and then start adding numbers too it. _________________ Gary Shepherd

Sounds interesting.
I was hoping for a butt simpler way to do it as I compose, without all the applications, but maybe in time...
Thanx again, for all the input. |

I like Notepad (Microsoft text document). It's very easy to add to one note at a time if you set up a column with the letters representing the strings, then start with the first column of dashes, and then on to the next column of dashes, etc. I use two dashes to represent one eighth note.
Here's an example: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=106123&highlight=kohala+march+tab |
