Do anybody know of a midi pickup that will fit a 10 string E9th?

And do anybody have midi pickups on their steels?

I'm thinking particularly of how a player like BJ Cole gets his sound from a midi pickup.

Hi Anders,
There's a guy who builds 10 string midi pickups but I forget his name. Maybe someone who knows will chime in. Also you can try to find a Steel Rider system. They show up from time to time on here.
You can also use a 6-string guitar midi pickup if you don't mind having to choose just 6 strings to play through it. The 6-string pickups are slightly arched across the top (to match the regular guitar string bridge arc) and it will take some fiddling to get all 6 strings to track properly on the flat pedal steel strings but it can be done.
Either way you go you'll need a pickup as well as a midi interface to go with it.

I have a 6-string midi pickup that I got from a cool guy right here on the forum. (Thanks Hiro) I play a U12 so I mount it under the "inside 6" strings of the B6th tuning. The midi converter plugs right into the Digidesign Mbox so I can "plug and play" all kinds of sounds right off my laptop from Hammond B3 to horns to strings - any sound I find really. Flute is kind of cool.

One of my favorite is a washed out strings patch that follows the notes in a sort of bloom. (I think BJ Cole uses similar sounds sometimes?)

You might give these guys a try - they may not have but point you in a direction.
