BTW - the main focus of my clinics will be to introduce regular guitarists to the world of lap steel, and show them how to get started.
I'll also perform tunes from my CD, plus some other stuff, but unfortunately I couldn't bring a full band so the "band" will consist of backing tracks on my laptop, and my nephew on acoustic guitar..

Wow, old tube amps and Steinar at the same place? I'll seriously consider driving down to southern Danmark for this event.

Blast! Wish the road wasn't so long from Trondheim to Denmark...
I'd have loved to be there, Steinar! I really like your playing, and since I'm a guitar player trying to start lap steel, your classes would have been perfect...
Oh well, I hope to catch you later!
Have fun, and do some good!

I don't think I can make it to this one, I'm even further than my cousins in the old country(s).
One grandmother was from Odense, that looks like a fairly short drive.

I would like to come to the clinic just to see the Scandanavian countries. I love 'em because they have so much beauty.
Is there any night time there now or is the sun shining all day?
Aloha,
Don

Don,
That's only above the Arctic Circle, and only during the summer months. By now I think it's starting to darken up there, too.
I have been up there when the sun only went below the horizon for a few minutes, and at midsummer it doesn't go down at all.
But in Denmark they're much too south for the midnight sun.

The downside to the midnight sun is that at winter the sun doesn't come up at all, so there's a season of 24/7 darkness...
I live on the southern coast of Norway, only 2 hours on a ferry to Denmark, and have never been as far north as above the arctic circle so I've never seen the midnight sun "live".. (I'll have to do something about that).

This thread reminded me to get out Steinar's CD again today. I was giving it a rest after being in my car player exclusively for WEEKS! If any of you haven't picked up on Steinar's CD "Southern Moon, Northern Lights" you should do so, it's a wonderful work. Highly recommended!

Wish I could have been there. Svendborg is a story book town.
