I honestly wasn't sure if I should post this inquiry on "No peddlers" or on "Pedal steel."
Has anyone played one of these Lone Star Port-A-pedal "skeleton" guitars? Apparently it has 3 pedals and 2 wrist levers; the description says it can fit on a lap or keyboad stand, but if so, I would assume the pedal "rods" are cables? Couldn't tell from the photo (below, if the link works).
I searched on the Forum for this but didn't find much. Anyone played one?

It says it has a slide mounted pickup for "infinate tonal variations", but it appears that it can only be moved about a half-inch.
Also, the photo doesn't show the levers as being connected. I'm wondering how stable it would be. |

I'd never heard of these guitars prior to your posting. I doubt they have much of a following yet.

I tried to play one down at the texas show but they didn't have an amp or anything (like a pod) to play it through. I've been curious myself.

I emailed the manufacturer about the mechanism for the pedals; he answered with the following:
"The cables are run thru a removable bar under the machine heads, then the cabel ends slip in a notched barrel at the end plate, which are attatched to rods that pull the pedal cross shfts, they also act as pedal stops."
I'm curious to know how responsive the pedals are, and how easy it is to operate the wrist levers. It could be a dream come true for those of us who want a portable table steel with a few extra perks.
Also, the guitar looks cool as all get out. |

I had contacted them about making a 6 string version months ago. Looked very interesting and compact without the pedal board. Still would like to hear and play one. Maybe a keyless version might be nice. Any one know if they offer one??
Logged on to their site and clicked on the "New Stuff" icon and saw the coolest little 6 string pedal guitar!! Model S-6. I think I will call them tomorrow and find out more.

Would you believe that one of the portable models popped up on Ebay. Did not last long!
