I am going to Fort Collins Colorado,May 16,17 & 18. Would like to hear some live country music with pedal steel guitar. Anyone know of any bars in the area. Thanks Steve R.

Steve,
I also can't help you directly with your question, but want to respond anyway.
My wife and I are moving to Fort Collins some unknown time in the future.
There are a lot of small venues that have live music, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. Judging from the couple of times I've been there, it's possible but not definite that you'll find bands with a steel player during the time you're there. I'm sure you'll be able to pick up a local paper that will list the many entertainment choices.
Good luck.
Marc

This post reminds me of the time I visited my in-laws in Fort Collins in '74. I had sold my first steel for financial reasons, content to playing mandolin and guitar, for time being. At the music store in town, possibly the only music store there, at that time, I heard a fellow playing some C6 stuff down in the basement, like he was showing somebody a phrase, and thought of what I was missing. Also it was my first time out west and the yellows and browns of the mountains and plains the "westness" of everything caused a powerful yearning for the instrument. Don D.

Well, too bad you're not a little further south and here till Friday-we're playing at Dillinger's in Lafayette Friday night.
