Is there a way to move your favorites list from an old computer to a new one. Maybe with a USB drive, or CD.

Bill;
By "Favorites" are you referring to Internet Explorer bookmarks? If so there is an easy way to "move" them to another browser of computer.
With Internet Explorer open and the "Menu bar" showing, click on File > Import and Export. The "Import/Export Wizard" will open. Click "Next." On the Import/Export Selection screen highlight "Export Favorites." Click Next. Make sure that the top folder - Favorites - is highlighted and click Next. In the next screen there should be a dot in the radio option: "Export to a File or Address." Use the Browse button to select a place to save your Favorite file, then click Next. The destination can be an external drive or another networked computer, if File Sharing is enabled and they are in the same Workgroup and subnet. The file will have the default name "bookmark.htm" although you can change it as you see fit.
When you have exported your Favorites go to the other computer and open Internet Explorer. Follow the same basic procedure, but this time choose Import Favorites, then locate the saved bookmark.htm and click Next to import it into Internet Explorer.

Wiz,
They were in Netscape and Firefox, when I upgraded Firefox, it lost all favs (bookmarks)in there. Still have them in Netscape on the other comp.

It is remotely possible that your bookmarks file still exists in an old profile directory. First, open any explorer window and click on Tools > Folder Options > View. Under Advanced Settings check or uncheck the following options:
Display the contents of system folders (checked)
Show hidden files and folders (checked)
Hide extensions for known file types (unchecked)
Click Apply, then OK.
Using Explorer (or My Computer) navigate to C:\Documents and Settings. Locate the folder with your logged in identity and open it. Open Application Data, then look for a folder named Mozilla Firefox, or Netscape whatever, and open its sub-folders until you find lots of files with names including cookies.txt, signons.txt, bookmarks.html, etc. If you double-click on the bookmarks.html file it will open in a tree view. There will be other copies of bookmarks.html backed up in sub-directories of the profile directory. Look for them. Maybe you will find the missing bookmarks hiding in a backup folder.

Wiz, Thanks for your help, I'll try again later after I get my other programs reinstalled and running.
FWIW..When we formatted the new drive 500gb it showed as only 175gb, found a program that picked up the missing space...gparted.sourceforge.net, download the image, burn to a CD boot from the CD and repartition/rearrange the drive.
