I had the pleasure of hearing Mike at the Ryman. he had ray Price singing with him plus about 25 other musicians on stage. Ray kept giving him solos.Mike sounded great. Oh yea, Ray sang great also.

I saw Mike with Ray Price here in Bakersfield a few years ago and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. What a class act!

I also saw them two years ago at Radio City in NYC during the Legnds Tour with Willie and Merle. Ray said he had a head cold, but sang like a bird during his set with Mike and came out later to Jam with all.

What a trouper, he made me a fan instantly, and at his age he makes the Rolling Stones look like young lads.

Hi Bruce, indeed Mike is a great player. Being a Minnisota guy he did a short stint with a band called "Art Essery" band in the mid 80's. With regards to yourself, I had the pleasure of meeting you many years ago at a BBQ in England organised by a lady called Lorraine Lewin. She got a bunch of us Brit players together to meet you. I told you Ray Flacke was in my band for a few months. This was before he upped and moved to the States. I still get occasional e'mails from him. I have always enjoyed your playing, from the Ricky Skagg's days with Ray to the current time. Your picking is meticulous....cheers Smile

thanks for the kind words fellas.
Ray put that little gathering together; horns, strings etc....nifty idea.
Cant forget to mention the great Jimmy Capps and Pete Wade who graced the stage with their considerable talents, and how about Pete bringing "Big Red" to play on?(Grady Martin's Gibson custom 345, given to Pete by Grady) Now if E wouldve been able to make the gig it wouldve been perfect....one of these days we're gonna trick him into it:wink:

Saw the show on Thursday evening (1 May) at Spindale NC. Ray and the "Strings" were awesome but Mike and his EMCI really "put the cherry on the whipped cream". It was great visiting with Mike before and after the show.

I love MIke Cass's playing. I've only heard him once, at Scotty's, but his sound was as close as anything I've ever heard to 'Touch My Heart'. He was playing an MCI, as I recall. THrough a couple of Standell amps.

I also saw that show Wed night. What a show... My wife is not a country music fan, but she has done nothing but talk about your show since we got back.

I was the guy who talked to you outside the side door after the show.
