JMO... many will disagree, but if you want a simple to operate unit, the Boss DD3 will do a very good job for you. I have tried the rack effects and to my ear, they are not much better and they have to be programmed. The DD3 has knobs and you do NOT have to program it. That is a definite plus on the bandstand. For studio use, the Lexicon units sound great, but are not user friendly on the bandstand unless you are a great programmer. Hope this helps in your decision.

No reverb, just delay. Just add a little of the amps spring reverb, sounds very clean. You will find with the delay unit, you need very little reverb anyway. Just experiment with the reverb and the unit and you will find a good sound.

If you´re looking for reverb AND delay in a stompbox, check out the Boss RE-20.

Here are some reviews on it:
RE-20 review
It is modeled after the old Roland Space Echo tape echo and has a pretty decent vintage sound.
I like the sound and possibilities that it has very much.
