'72 Emmons D10 history

Post by Peter Freiberger »

I recently got a '72 Emmons D10, a black fatback. S/N 1655D. Just curious if anyone can provide any history on it. It may have been re-mica'd at some point as the Emmons emblem was put on with only two screws and didn't have a hole in the mica for the third one. It has 8 widely spaced wide cast pedals, and 4 mismatched knee levers. It's obviously had a vertical lever at some point and who knows what else over the years. I have filled quite a few extraneous holes underneath.

Despite all that it sounded great, even with ancient strings, and I couldn't resist. I'm waiting for the new flocking to dry overnight and hope to start a careful reassembly tomorrow.
