A band I play in wants to do Misery & Gin by Merle Haggard. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a few of the chords in this song.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got all the chords (I think) except one that fall in between the word "can" and "tell" in the chorus. The chord movement is from a 6m to ? to a 2 chord. In C, I play the Am and flat the A (keeping the C & E ringing) and it sounds OK but I am sure it is not right. The part in question is in red below.
The whole line is:
I think I'm having a good time,
But, every fool can tell
Stephen, I may see you Thursday night. I don't think I am welcom back at the Flames as I got into words with that jackass bartender Steve the last time I was there. I may show up just to pi$$ him off.

The 3 chord I have. It's the chord after the 6m going down to the 2 chord that I am talking about. The closest I have found is to take the Am (6m in C), lower the root (A) a half step (G#) and leave the 5 note (E) alone and leave the b3 note (C) alone. This gives me an Eaug chord. Not sure if this is right, but it looks like it will have to do. I'm doing this on the piano, so it's easier to see the movement of notes.
Plus, the band leader wants me to play piano on this song as opposed to steel. Gotta wonder about that one.

Well, with the help of George Sypert, I have what seems to be the right chord. Instead of a 3 augmented, he suggested it might be a 3 7th. This sound right.
Thanks to all.
Just as an aside, I find about 75% of the songs tabbed on the internet to be wrong. Especially at Roughstock or Cowpie, whatever they officially call it. I've seen songs where whole verses were missing.

the trick on the Em is to descend the E note on the D string chromatically to the open D, then on the A string play B-C-C# over the Em chord, really works well.
WE really over do those transition lines I play the harmony to the acoustic guitar players bass line.
