I remember about 8 years ago that Buddy Emmons was on the Forum discussing his trouble with arthritis in his hands which was causing pain when playing the PSG.
Seems he found some relief taking a combination of fish oil and something else. Does anyone remember more specifics about this?
I should have printed out the exchange of comments for future reference, but I didn't.
Thanks,
Mel |

I don't remember the specifics, but Skip Mertz is the man to ask.
Do a 'search' here quoting his name and you may be lucky. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Mel, it was a combination of Bi-Flex and fish oil that worked for Buddy. You may be able to do a search for "Bi-Flex" and find the discussion. |

One of the things, as I recall, was something called CMO. |

I mentioned Skip's name because he and Buddy were conversing privately about this issue. I believe that Skip had a some suggestions that BE found helpful, and, if I recall, infinitely superior to Celebrex!!! _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Careful, Ernie - or they'll make sure that you need a prescription to buy any honey!!! _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

My Auntie Marty Kunimura was a professional pianist who couldn't play due to arthritis so she went to her brother-in-law, my Uncle Roger Ogata, a rhuematologist in Honolulu, who stung her once in each hand every day for a month with honey bees. 60 honey bees died so that she could play the piano again and she did, for at least 15 more years.
IMPORTANT: remember, even one bee sting could kill you if you happen to be allergic to bee venom.
As a physician, my uncle was more interested in helping people than in going by the book. He came up with this method after he happened to be talking to a bee keeper one day who said, "You'll never see any of us in your office. Bee keepers don't get arthritis."
Disclaimer: I don't give medical advice but, if the 3 tablespoons of honey aren't strong enough, this method might be something a person might want to think about. Auntie Marty, who taught piano at the famous Punaho school that Barrack Obama attended, said that, after the first few treatments, the stings didn't bother her much.

I knew this lady who swore up and down that WD-40 on the finger joints worked great. I'm serious. I haven't tried that trick - somehow it just doesn't sound very safe. Years back there was craze or fad where people were using a substance called MSO. _________________ Steeless. |

Don't bother with the greasy wal mart type fish oil.
I use the best there is from www.drdavesbest.com. I take 6 of Dr Dave's fish oil caplets a day and they really work keeping my joints, especially my hands, pain free.
