I have a 1938 and 1940's double neck national guitars and would like a good sounding amp that was built for lap steels from that era. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to look for? This will be for home use.

Well,,,, a nice old National amp would be a nice choice. Vega also made amps back then. Oahu? Here's a slightly "too new" National on ebay:
