What key are you playing it in ?
Beyond the usual no-pedals A minor position, there are two others readily available (at the open nut) E minor, by lowering your third string and using any of the following strings: 1,2,3,5,and 6 or alternately using your 7th pedal and any of strings 1,2,3,4,5,6.
The other easy alternative is using your 6th pedal to make the open C chord into C minor. It really helps if you have a 4th string raise, from a to Bb to make it C minor seventh (or ninth).
