Anybody know any of these guys and gal?
Ken...don't recall if I sent you this photo or not but there used to be a TV program on in Bakersfield back in the 50's called "Cousin Herb and His Trading Post Gang". Kind of an early version of Hee Haw. Quite a few of the later greats, when they were young and unknown, played on this show. Buck, Merle and a few others. Anyway, here's a picture of the players back then. It used to come on in the afternoon and was fairly popular in Bakersfield, which was a real hillbilly town in those days. Joe

Hello Ken;
I am not sure but I would guess the man standing
leaning on the guitar next to the lady to be the
great Mr Roy Nickols (sp? ) who played lead with
Merle Haggard & the Strangers for so long.
I would bet Mr Larry Petree would know them all.

| I've got a couple of guesses. Far right Herb Henson, the gal I'm guessing Bonnie Owens, I believe that is definitely Roy Nichols leaning on the guitar. Second from right seating maybe Fuzzy Owen. |
