I had the great pleasure of seeing Terry play at close quarters when I visited Mr Seymour in Nashville last month. Terry has got it all. Good tone, intonation, feel and technique. Bobbe has posted a demo of himself, his assistant Danny and Terry all playing a Carter Starter. http://www.steelguitar.net/

Worth viewing if nothing else than hearing how good a student guitar can sound in the hands of great players. Also a lesson that you should not dismiss a guitar because it is inexpensive.

Not to usurp any authority here but stay tuned for an announcement advising the local folks around Oklahoma for an upcoming chance to see Terry.

I heard/saw Terry Crisp play at the Stockyard in Nashville when I was at Jeff Newmans in 1982 --- he was in the house band and just blew everyone away with his playing then.

The first time I became aware of Terry Crisp was when Ricky Skaggs' 'Love's Gonna Get You' album was released. What an amazing contribution Terry made to this record!

Then I saw Skaggs playing in the Derby Assembly Rooms a few years later - Terry was still in the band and he made my night!!!

He's one of an elite handful of steel players!

WOW! You just wouldnt believe how much Terry looks like his dad in that picture. I know he misses him an awful lot! He talks about him all the time...

He knows his way around the underneath of a pedal steel guitar almost as well as the top. I was impressed with his playing - both slow stuff and fast. A good all rounder.

Strange - I mentioned in another thread that I've been dubbing odds and ends from VHS tapes on to DVDs recently. Today I came upon more Ricky Skaggs stuff - two songs on 'Wogan' featuring Terry on his black Emmons - 'Country Boy' and 'Wheel Hoss'!

Amazing playing, as you'd expect - this must have been '83 or '84, and recorded at the BBC-TV Studio at Shepherds Bush Green (where I used to do 'Crackerjack' with Eamonn Andrews in my Eden Kane days.... memories, memories!!!)

Heads up everyone.....Terry will at the Oklahoma Steel Guitar Association's Memorial Day convention. It starts on Fri May 23 at 1 PM....I suspect Terry's time slot will be on Saturday. I've been honored to staff this show for the last several years and each year brings a new , fresh , group of players and awesome vocalists.

Located at the Airport Radisson Hotel...great music , good fellowship , and an opportunity to hear some world class players.

Cya there.....LK
