| I have been working with Marv Pfluger and Jim Adams along with Gary Rittenberry to finally build a guitar that I have needed for several years. It was originally one of Jim Adams' maple-body resonators, but I couldn't find a way to play loud enough and not have the usual feedback issues. When I saw Marv's guitars I contacted him and he was kind enough to provide the reso-sound mod kit so I could work with Jim to fit it AND the HipShot assembly correctly to finally have a very versatile steel or (with the flip of a switch) "reso" guitar. To ensure as much stability as possible with the various tunings I asked Gary Rittenberry to pre-fab some roller assemblies to use in the nut and bridge positions. He built them to the customary steel-guitar spacing so I wouldn't have to contend with different spacings when I switch between "dobro" and pedal-steel on stage. With the HipShot assembly I have (3) tuneable positions available for each string. I used the guitar twice last weekend and it performed beyond my expectations. I don't know where they are right now. But I had some pictures of a resonator guitar awhile back that you just had to flip over to have a second guitar. Looked interessting to me. But my first thought was that the sound quality would be pi$$ poor.
