Mt Vernon Ill Show
First I would like to thank all the players singers and all the workers that made this show a total success. Also the venders I hope they all found every thing they needed. It was a great show a great venue had a great time even though I couldn't play with my arm in a sling. Most of all I would like to thank all who bought a ticket and supported our show without them we would have no show. I hope we can count on all for next years show also in October we will have a Guitar show in the same place as it stands now Brent Mason and Doug Jernigan will headline this show more info to come. Again a big thanks to all. Don

I have just returned from the Southern Illinois Steel Guitar Club show.....those of you who could not, or did not come out missed a barn burner,( guess it would be appropriate to say a "ground shaker")..great music from some great players, and great vocals from several guest artists. And the band musicians..top notch..great support from some of the truly finest musicians in the country..Ric Boyer bass, Earl Erb guitar,Rick Vanough drums, Walt Cunningham keyboard......doesn't get any better. Thanks guys for your expertise, and your talents..
And the truly great steel players..legends and such great musicians... some of them Hall of Famers, and more will be in the future. You made the day for many people..
And my thanks and kudos to Bobby Reed, Don and Sheila Lamply,Tommy Miller,Fred Rushing, Joe Arview,Vernon Mandrell, Tim,the Nashville sound tech, and the other board members, who I can't remember their names, and their staff, and the volunteers who worked so hard for the last year to plan, develop, and bring this show to the fans..
It takes lots of time, hard work, and dedication to produce a great show like this...
And a special thanks for the fans who came out and supported the show..you are the special group, as we would not,nor could we, do the shows without you..
And I thank them for their confidence in me, for allowing me to be a part of this production..
Plan for attending next year..it will be here before you know it...
Peace and good fortune to you..

This was my first time to the IL Show at Mount Vernon. I really enjoyed it and like Rob Parker said it was a barn burner.
I was very impressed with the whole show! I learned alot while there and in my opinion they had the best backup band I have heard at any steel show anywhere's. Just absolutely a fabulous steel guitar show!
Thanks for letting me be a part of the show. Thanks Dan Burnham and Don Fristche for letting me help with the BMI Steel Company.
Again, I really enjoyed the show and it was great to get to see old friends and meet and make new friends.
GOD bless!

Hi Bill,
I was there Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. Our show at Marshfield is on June 7th this year. Hope you can come to it.
Also I'm in agreement with Don Curtis about Cowboy Eddie Long and Terry Crisp.
I would like to add that I knew Julian Tharpe and he was my friend and my mentor. For several years I studied Julian's style and followed it. I can honestly tell you and I have heard hundreds of steel players and to me Cowboy Eddie Long has the same touch as Julian. I was glad to finely meet Cowboy and hear his refreshing approach to steel guitar. You all will be hearing alot more of Cowboy and his playing. I am gonna try and get Cowboy up here at our show at a future date.
Again, I really enjoyed my weekend at the Mount Vernon Show.
GOD bless!

Well Don, I told you I would let you know about my test. They found and removed two polyp's in my colon,
it don't look like any cancer. In my stomach they found a lot of irration plus an ulcer and a hiatil hearnia. They think they can take care of it with medication. Hope you don't mind me posting this here.

Everything was top notch. the band, the sound, etc. was an absolute treat. Thanks again and hope to see you next year.
