I was wondering if the Sho -bro that a bunch of us ponied up a hundred bucks apiece to buy Shot Jackson's Sho-bro is still being displayed at the CMHF.

I thought I had heard it was mothballed somewhere, is that true, or is it still on display. I have not had the chance to visit and was curious.

Thanks in advance for any input. Very Happy

Craig, Shot Jackson's Sho-Bro is presently on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame in an exhibit along with Tommy Jackson's fiddle, Joe Maphis'double-neck guitar, Henry Strzelecki's Fender Bass and Buddy Emmons' Sho-Bud steel. Brandon, when you were here in June, Shot's Dobro was part of a special display of historic instruments, offsite, on Nashville's Music Row.

On August 15th 2008, the Hall of Fame is opening a new exhibit: "Kitty Wells-Queen of Country Music. I have been fortunate to see this exhibit in production and Shot is well represented for the essential and instrumental role he played in the careers of Kitty & Johnny and Jack Anglin.

On this forum, we are always reading about steel players who restore and play Sho-Buds. Certainly these guitars must be some of the sharpest looking instruments ever built. Shot and all the people who made Sho-Bud great will always be with us.

Robert, this is very welcome news to many of us who contributed to put it there. Thank you for that information. BTW, it was also to be displayed with a plaque that listed the names of all the contributors/donors. Can you confirm whether that plaque is also still on display with the instrument?
Thanks.
Jim

Thanks Robert, I have a list somewhere of all the contributors along with a picture of the Sho-bro and a bunch of all players including Buddy Emmons.

It's nice to know that our efforts are not in vain.
