Well, I think I'm going to need some advice from anyone who might be able to help. I just bought a real nice 1952 Fender dual 8 pro. While cleaning it up and re-stringing it, I've discovered that the tuning key for the 8th string on the back neck, is binding up and slipping. DAMN !! I took the pan off and looked it over, but what can I do to get it fixed? Any sugestions? Thanks, Tommy |

If I remember right, each key is soldered to the plate. I think that the tip of the key screws off. You need to take that key off and find a replacement as close to that key as you can find. Do not do anything untill some one else gives their advice. My memory come and goes, mostley goes. |

Tommy,
The same thing happened to my '53 T8 Stringmaster with the lollipop tuners. This long thread has a lot of information on this problem:

The guy that can help you is Terry Mueller. I sent him my tuning pan and he did a terrific repair job on it for a very reasonable price. He saved the day for me.
