Rick-Sounds like the real thing. Real Hawaiian.
I was just playing Herb's old tape, "Steelin Memories" and it is some great playing, the way I like it.
Is that a National New Yorker in the picture?...al

Wow, I am back in the 30's with Sol and Dick!
And the sound recording is better too.
Sounds like a great album in the works.

Nice job guys! That has a great melody. Herb's phrasing is exceptional. Rick I think you may be enjoying that uke too much...
Keep teasing us. The CD will do great.

Thanks Jody - you're next buddy!
Thank you Don - that great lap steel stand you made for me sure comes in handy!
Mikey - I appreciate that pal!
Mike - what can I say, you are the best!! I put a promotional copy in the mail as you requested. Thanks for being Real Music's Best Friend!
Al, as you can see from the above pic
- that is indeed a National New Yorker on the stand.
David L. - you have an ear for steels my friend. While it's not a double neck, both Herb's steel part (melody) and mine (the other part) were played on Ricky Bakelites.
Thanks Andy - much appreciated!
G-man, how could anyone possibly enjoy a ukulele too much??
Especially this one. Before Herb came here for the sessions he told me I needed to get a Martin Soprano Uke. He was so right.
Thank you Ron & Ron for sipping your caffeinated beverages to the BULA HULA!
Thanks Drew - I be working on it . .
Guys, I told Herb about all your comments - it made his day!

Rick-You and Herb make quite a talented pair.
I used to play a national New Yorker , played a lot of gigs with it Hawaiian and pop. Around 1937.
That tone control on the end had 3 clik stops and could go from bass to treble in a flash to get that boowah.
I liked it but traded it in for a Vega D8 non pedal. I should have kept it , but didn't have money enough to keep two steels. ..al

Chuck, that's the ultimate compliment anyone could give to this song!
Al, yep New Yorkers are sweet alright. I have a 30s 8 string too and I really like it, especially since I installed the Rick Aiello NIBro magnets. The string spacing is a little close though, it takes some getting used to . .
Mike R - thank you! I'm working on it . .
Mike G - thanks so much for playing our music on
Swingin West !
