When I got this Sho-Bud I made myself a promise that I would never try to adjust that mess underneath.Well another broken promise.
Can't seem to adjust the E lever. No mater what I try nothing changes, I still maintain the E in the open position and the adjustments move but it will not change from E. Any suggestions for this truly left handed screwdriver mechanic.

Have you checked to make sure that the nylon tuning nut isn't stripped on that pull?

Actually no to both responses.Being new to this animal I'm more than a little confused abut some of the terms you folks use.Where are the "fingers" and if the threads ars stripped does it need to be done by a pro?

howdy, i had the same problem a while back, when i changed the strings, one of the eyes on the end of the string hadn.t gone into the claw, it was along side the finger, simple thing, never noticed it, till i went to use levers, hope yours is as easy to fix, lew.

Mr. Foote I have looked in it and see no obstructions. I changed all the strings when purchased and all used were intact.

is there a way to check the threads from underneath, I am a little nervous about taken things apart. Both 4 & 8 seem to have tension but no adj. These 2 rods do not have the usual ends. just a non adj rod attached to what appears to be a homemade x-shaft

howdy, a good close up picture of the under carriage, and end plate with the, pedal-lever tuners, may help in this instance, lew

I can do a picture but I'm not sure I'll be able to send it. It's been a long time since I've done it so hang tough.

howdy, if you activate the lever in question, at the same time, watching the move ment from the cross shaft, and the bell cranks, [the bits the rods are attatched to], follow the move ment of the rods to the plastic tuners, watch for movement in this area, if its operating there, watch the fingers, the things the strings are attatched to, follow the movement right through its range, from lever to string attatchment, you should at some stage, find where its not doing its job, lew.
